When Jill & Jason emailed me and said they were getting married at the Calgary Zoo I straight up squealed. My mind was blown, I didn’t even know that was an option! I knew that it was going to be beautiful but I was still blown away. The gardens, the merry go round, the badlands, there are so many places to take photos!
Jill looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress from The Bridal Centre and her accessories from Joanna Bisley Designs. Robin from Avenue Beauty did such an amazing job on her hair and make up, it was very natural and elegant.
They tied the knot at Sacred Heart Church with a traditional Catholic ceremony. The church is in the heart of downtown Calgary and is absolutely stunning, just a few minutes’ drive away from the Calgary Zoo. Jason looked very dapper in his custom suit from Indochino. I loved the dark blue against the blush roses.
The reception was held in the ENMAX Conservatory, it was a very elegant setup and the fact that you get the entire conservatory all to yourselves for you & your guests to enjoy is amazing. Guests can go wander around and look at the many beautiful tropical plants while the wedding party gets their photos done. The way the light hit the plants as the sunset was beautiful as well.
The Zoo also catered the wedding and it was AMAZING. I am honestly still dreaming of the dessert and have never had anything like it before, or after. As a photographer, this was an absolute dream to shoot, the perfect couple, the perfect venue, and the perfect day.
