Dreamy and Classic Lakeshore Wedding from Toronto, Ontario

A perfect gown, a waterfront ceremony, a sparkler send off – it doesn’t get any dreamier than today’s classic lakeshore wedding from Toronto wedding photographer Amare Studios! Mailyn & Americo’s wedding ceremony was filled with fresh greenery and all-white wedding decor, which make the floral arrangements practically illuminate! Mailyn wore a classic gown with lace overlay and delicate straps, to compliment the low back of the gown. Their wedding reception was a party that lasted well into the night, topped off with that amazing sparkler send off! From the photographer:

I had been looking forward to photographing Mailyn & Americo’s wedding for ages. After meeting them in person, getting to know them, and hearing so many amazing things about their venue, featuring Toronto’s skyline, I felt so inspired and ready to photograph the day. I had my second shooter Cass along with me for the morning at the girls getting ready location. The location had so much open space and bright light, it was a photographer’s dream come true. I highly encourage brides to choose their getting ready locations with the atmosphere in mind. My top three things to look for are good quality of light, spacious layout, and design elements that fit the theme of your wedding day. Check, check, and check.

We started with the details, and then Mailyn shared gifts with all of her family and bridesmaids. I love capturing all of the emotion at this part of the day. To celebrate and keep the good vibes flowing, we popped a bottle of champagne. Mailyn got on her dress and had a big reveal with everyone. Then they were off in the limo to head to the venue!

Americo and the guys spent the morning at the venue. It was very laid back, just a few of Americo’s closest friends, and everyone was having fun and goofing around. Americo suited up, and then he opened a gift from Mailyn. It was a boxing glove, and I’m sure there was plenty of personal sentiment attached. The anticipation was growing, as the ceremony was right around the corner.

Cass and I went to set up and take details shots before the ceremony began. The south view of Lake Ontario, contrasted with a beautiful city skyline as dusk approached, made for the perfect setting. There was a chance for rain, and so the tarp was put up, but even so, it improved the glowy, soft quality of light. Everything was perfect. Despite small changes on the day of, I always encourage brides and grooms to focus on the bigger picture, and always look for positives. The weather can’t be controlled, but we can always control how we view the situation.

Mailyn looked stunning as she walked down the aisle. Family and friends teared up as Mailyn & Americo came together. They were full of laughs as they moved through the ceremony and said their vows. After the kiss, they filled up a jar with sand to symbolize their lives merging together as one. As they walked down the aisle as husband and wife, everyone cheered. It was so heartwarming to be downstairs with their closest family and friends as they spent their first moment as a married couple, eye wide being congratulated by family and friends.

After family portraits, and then Mailyn and Americo headed down solo to the lake for their individual portraits. The sky was starting to durn a dusty pink, and the rain had held off for photos. The thing I love about Palais Royale is how diverse the photo locations are. The skylines, the urban graffiti, the classic venue, and the lush greeenery. We did it all, and I could not be happier with how all the images turned out. I always try to get as much variety as I can for my couples, always focusing on capturing the authentic moments in each setting. As we walked back to the venue their family and friends were waiting, and everyone started hollering and cheering. It was honestly one of the most memorable parts of the day, there was so much love and support.

The reception began in an elegant ballroom, with lights hanging on the ceiling, and a beautiful Love sign to frame the dance floor. After entrances, we moved onto the first dances. For Americo’s first dance everyone surrounded him and his mom in a big circle, it was as if everyone was a part of the dance. Mailyn and Americo’s first dance couldn’t have been more romantic. Mailyn had changed into a new dress and contrasted with the golden light of the love sign, it was so romantic and elegant. My favorite part of the night was the sparkler exit we did with all of their family and friends. Everyone formed to create a pathway and Mailyn & Americo ran through until all the sparkers died out. After, we walked down to the lake with just the two of them before heading back. It was such a beautiful night. The day ended off with lots of dancing and partying, the YMCA was definitely the biggest hit.

The day was a huge success, and I am so happy I got to be a part of it.”
