There are so many words I would use to describe this wedding. Bohemian, garden chic, but most of all, I would call it absolutely charming. Russ and Kayla were married in a sweet ceremony afternoon ceremony photographed by Loree Photography, filled with rich jewel tones and whimsical elements. Kayla wore a flowing lace gown, and paired her burgundy velvet shoes (which I am officially obsessed with!) with a ruby red lip. Kayla’s bridesmaids wore flower crowns and mismatched floral pattern dresses, while Russ’ groomsmen wore muted navy’s, green and marsala. What I love about most about this couple is in the story of how Russ proposed, asking Kayla to be his best bud forever. The best. Russ was serving at a ladies night One of his girl friends approached me to chat at the end of the night prepping me that Russ wanted to talkRuss sat down we got chatting and the night ended. He added me on Facebook and a few weeks later I saw him at the gym, I messaged him and asked if he would meet me there again the next day if he wasn’t too scaredWe met there again and we didn’t really talk. He texted me and asked if he could take me on a date. We went out for drinks and hung out everyday that summer from then on. Eating a lot of chicken wings and drinking a lot of beer and he owned a ice cream stand so I got a lot of free ice cream. I moved back home to Edmonton and although we weren’t official yet he continued to make the drive to come visit. Eventually I moved to Saskatoon to be closer to Russ and eventually we both moved to Estevan together while Russ started his career as a power line tech with saskpower. We’ve traveled a lot together and always make time to go camping. Last summer we moved closer to our homes and now reside in Lloydminster. Russ proposed to me that summer on a beach in Kananaskis while we were kayaking… He asked me to be his best bud forever.
