All Board! Vintage Locomotive Weddings At Calgary Wedding Venue Heritage Park

Today we’re so excited to welcome our friends from Heritage Park for a guest post on hosting a totally unique wedding – a wedding and reception aboard a vintage train!

We’re all excited to see the SS Moyie back in the water at Heritage Park. The true hidden gem when it comes to wedding venues at the Park is the River Forth Dining Car. This vintage Canadian Pacific Railway car adds a sense of adventure with a touch of charm. It takes you and your guests back to an era where things moved slower, more gracefully.

The River Forth began its service back in 1929 as a Solarium Observation car. It underwent many more modifications and downgrades as time went on. In 2015 Heritage Park restored the car back to its lavish beginnings as an elegant 1920s dining car.

You and your guests can be whisked around Heritage Park by rail, exploring our beautiful historical village from the comfort of the River Forth hooked up to our antique steam train. It can also be booked as a stationary venue in our scenic settlement area. It’s the perfect size for an intimate affair! It has seating for a maximum of 36 close friends and family. Not big enough for your wedding? Keep it in mind as a unique rehearsal dinner option.

When hosting your wedding reception in the Park, you do not need to venture far to say “I Do.” Heritage Park has nine ceremony possibilities. They’re spread throughout its one hundred and twenty-seven acres.

Enjoy a three-course plated meal which features regional Western Canadian cuisine. Or, work closely with one of our experienced Catered Event Planners. With their help, you can customize a menu tailored for your event.

Insider Information: All venue rentals at Heritage Park include the use and set up of tables and chairs, china, flatware, your choice of linen tablecloths and napkins, wait staff, and a mic and podium.

Timeless photo opportunities: When you choose Heritage Park it opens the door to a world of backdrops. With exclusive photo settings only available when you book a wedding at Heritage Park.

Any time you host a private event at Heritage Park it directly supports our mission of connecting people with the settlement of Western Canada. Hosting your wedding at Heritage Park allows us to preserve artifacts, maintain our steam trains, care for our livestock, take on restoration projects like the River Forth Dining Car and preserve history for generations to come.
