There’s something about vintage glamour that we find absolutely irresistible. Is it because it takes us back to a different time, where romance was devoured by men and women alike, and love bloomed through hand written letters that took weeks to arrive? Or is it just the feeling it bring, the appreciation for elegant details, for sunlight streaming through windows, for the smell of fresh flowers?
Today’s gorgeous inspiration shoot from Kensington Florals and Events, photographed by Truly Sublime Photography, fills us with vintage glamour and tons of colour! Fresh pastels add a vibrancy and a delicacy to this design. We adore the bride’s gown, with its shoulder straps, paired with a sweetheart neckline and a Cathedral veil that adds that sense of glamour. Dreaming up Vintage Glamour was a breeze once entering the Dole Mansion. The historic landmark was developed on the vast 1000 acres of land in 1860 which surround Crystal Lake. Featuring the romantic Italianate style craftsmanship throughout the magnificent mansion, one can only dream of all the secrets this beautiful backdrop has acquired over the last 158 years. The upstairs private family rooms which overlook the grounds and the lake, have kept their intricate allure creating the perfect setting for any bride, says Planner Victoria Thanoukos of Kensington Florals & Events. Capturing the essence of the time period while injecting hints of glamour was important throughout the day.
Vintage tributes with touches of old Hollywood were created by Golden Bridal Design that shown through in the gorgeous makeup applique and voluminous styled hair with an antique hair brooch. A custom Juliet cap cathedral veil by Sew Bridal was over 9ft long and had the most beautiful and delicately hand sown lace detailing both at the crown and the tail. A gorgeous full lace covered bodice dress from Dame Couture provided the perfect overall fancifully romantic effect illustrating the mood of the day. Elegant custom vintage jewelry was designed and provided by Calla Couture Jewelers taking this glamour vintage look to new heights!
A divine, antiqued blue cake by Amy Beck Cake Designs, was decorated with a simple wrap-around of hand crafted sugar-floral matching the lush urn floral pieces created by Kensington Floral Events to exemplify the old-world ambiance carried throughout the day. Striking flowers placed in the bridal bouquet by Blooming Events fashioned this over the top look perfectly tying in each element beautifully.
When new meets old-fashioned, proper bridesmaid dresses are the seamless touch in adding that perfect pop of color and whimsy. Carrying various shades of blue, each bridesmaid made an entrance in her lovely dress by Bridesmaids Social dazzling on lookers and tying in the hues from the lovely floral blue hued stationery custom designed by Emery Ann Designs, the cake and accents of the day.
