To Trend or Not To Trend

Wedding Makeup Inspiration

I love trends, and at times I think it’s wonderful to look and feel beautifully different. However, on the other hand, is your wedding day the best day to try something totally new with your hair and make-up? When giving styling advice to brides-to-be, more often than not I lean towards timeless sophistication, and personal style. When our clients pop in for engagement styling consultations, we like to suggest soft, playful looks that are not too overdone.

Wedding day makeup too should also be a conversation between the artist and the bride. Before anyone on my team even begins a makeup trial with a client, our discussions are about who they are, and how they wear their makeup when they are out on the town. We paint a picture, and gather an idea of who our lovely bride to be is, before we even think about picking up a brush.

The team at Trena Laine Makeup Artist specializes in beauty makeup. We enhance what you’ve already got. We also choose to work with natural, flattering colors that tend to lean towards more of a matte finish, over anything too sparkly or shimmery. Our speciality is using colour that compliments and pulls forward your “best face”.

We work with many talented hairstylists for on location weddings, and as a result are always having conversations about hair and make-up. Collaborating helps not only with the flow of the day, but we are able to get more insight on how the hair will be styled, allowing us to compliment on our end with makeup. Our job is to educate and work with our clients to find the best look for their day or photo session. Be it glamour, boudoir, wedding or even an engagement session, we are there for any major event in our client’s lives.
