We adore time honoured traditions – they’re one of the most beautiful aspects to any wedding and that’s why we’re so in love with Michelle and Steven’s Calgary wedding. The couple had the expertise of NINA Weddings and Events in planning their traditional Asian family ceremony in the morning and then a beautiful afternoon rock ceremony. Michelle and Steven wanted the day to be a celebration that blended western wedding traditions with their Asian heritage. The wedding day itself was a perfect marriage (pardon the pun) of both worlds. The morning started with a traditional Asian family ceremony, where gifts were offered, and games were played. The afternoon saw a beautiful outdoor ceremony (after the morning rain!) at Reader Rock Garden. Using bold colours–both a red and white wedding dress was worn–the palette of cobalt blue and gold was used to express the couples taste and desire for the contemporary.
