Bobby & Kylie were married at the Maya Beach Barcelo Resort in the Riviera Maya. I went early to scout the property (actually five properties in total) to find the best photo opportunities. It was a large task as the property spanned miles however by the end I had looked at every corner of that place and could draw a map from memory. Although I had hoped for sun, the words ‘torrential downpour’ wouldn’t be inaccurate in describing the weather when we were about to step outside for portraitures. I looked at Kylie and she just said, ‘cool let’s do it.’ I ran for umbrellas and we shot on the beach with water falling from every direction. After everybody was sufficiently soaked, it let up and we continued to shoot what I had planned. I attribute much of these photos to Kylie’s willingness to do the impractical. Her mermaid style dress was from Ethos, perfectly suited to the locale and undoubtedly responsible for attracting that school of fish. I had a great time shooting this destination wedding and look forward to more travels with other adventurous couples.
