Modern Bohemian Elopement Shoot

A fresh styled elopement shoot that's filled with dramatic, darkened details, we are loving the vivid contrasts in today's shoot from Calgary wedding photographer Marielle Louize and Calgary wedding planner Bexley Design Co. Bringing together modern bohemian design elements and an expressive natural setting, this styled elopement shoot has a serenity and an excitement to it. Hear more from about the inspiration and meet the entire Creative Team after the jump!

From the designer:

This elopement styled shoot took place in Red Rock Canyon, a stunning canyon with jagged rocks and a quick river flowing through it, located in Waterton National Park in Alberta. The deep red colour added so much richness and life to our shoot, I couldn't imagine it taking place anywhere else! The stunning views and unique table set-up made for incredible photos and styling that we believe are one-of-a-kind.

Marielle and I were inspired by some of the bohemian styling we had seen as of late, but wanted to take it one step (or two) further, and infuse some bold colours into an already stunning picturesque view of the canyon. The scenery and location was a huge point of inspiration for us and we really wanted the canyon to highlight our decor and palette choices. Our primary colour palette consisted of burgundy, black, orange, and touches of blue and copper.

We had some incredibly unique pieces custom-made just for the day! Spool and Grove Crew custom made the macrame swing for the shoot and Natura Macrame also created the beautiful macrame table runner specifically for this shoot! We wanted to tie in some bohemian vibes, and what better way than some stunning macrame! Both pieces were stunning and added the perfect amount of boho-chic to the aesthetic.

Throughout the shoot, Michaela and Jay's love was as evident as the smiles on their faces. They brought so much laughter and joy to the day that it was contagious! You can tell the love they carry for one another is sweet and true and joyful by simply looking at the lovely moments Marielle captured.
