Luxe Flower Artistry

Blue and Lavender Wedding Centre Piece

Wedding florals are about attention to detail and intricate styling, and size takes a back seat to artistic vision. While dreaming about your florals, consider both the larger and smaller scale of your visual choices. The colour palette you decide on will help articulate the larger, overall decor of your space and will have the greatest impact on your guests when they walk into the room.  The texture of your bloom pairing will provide delight on a smaller scale, which guests will notice and appreciate when they are either seated or enjoying an arrangement up close. Flowers also have the ability to tell a story aromatically – taking the time to choose blooms with thematic notes will add to the overall ambiance and impact of your room.

Cascading Bouquets

The word drama often evokes feelings of grandness and enormity – more blooms, more greenery, more  visual weight. Cascading florals give bouquets a dramatic twist by adding length as opposed to depth. Any bouquet can be made into a cascading bouquet with the right additions, and they are a luxurious way to make the bride’s bouquet stand out from her bridesmaid’s arrangements. Ask your florist about orchids, wildflowers, eucalyptus, ranunculus and ferns to add length. Accessories such as ribbons, berries, feathers, lace, and vines are another way to add variation to the length of your bouquet.

Floral Chandeliers

Like great lighting and great draping, a floral chandelier can transform your reception space. By adding vertical dimension, they make the room look instantly fuller and more exquisite. As living art, floral chandeliers also bring additional vibrancy to room decor, with scent and colour adding to the atmosphere. Branches make a perfect frame for a rustic floral chandelier. For a more modern or industrial look, consider creating a hexagon out of copper piping. Adorn your floral chandelier with hanging votives cradling tea lights or more whimsical elements like paper bunting, feathers, opals or sea shells.

Garland Centrepieces

Full, lush and vibrant, as family style seating at wedding receptions becomes more popular, so has the versatility and beauty of garland centerpieces. These long and flowing pieces of decor allow for plenty of room for individual place settings at a table, and allow guests to carry on conversations at a reception without playing hide and seek behind centerpieces. Garlands are the ultimate in versatility, as almost every type of greenery can be used to create the base of a garland, and garlands can be peppered with as few or as many flowers as desired. For strong pops of colour, consider peonies, campanula or clematis and add grapes or touches of citrus for texture.
