Unique Calgary Wedding Photographs Locations: Heritage Park

When we think about it, we don’t think there’s any Calgary wedding venue that has more unique wedding photography locations in one than Heritage Park. An entire historical park and village, from locomotives to a Ferris wheel to antique furniture, the vast array of photo and wedding portraits opportunities are endless.  They also have a vast assort of different styles of buildings on the park, such as sandstone, red buildings, yellow buildings and brick buildings, so many awesome Instagram backdrops, it’s a photographer’s playground! With dozens of indoor and outdoor options, the versatility of Heritage Park for photographs isn’t just about backdrops; it includes the fact that if the weather turns grey on your wedding day, they have a host of indoor options that will still give you a vast range of photography backdrops!

And as beautiful as Heritage Park is, great photo spaces aren’t all they have to offer. Planning your wedding day around a once in a lifetime highlight can offer something exceptional, and can give you and your fiance some space for a few quiet moments together. Heritage Park’s S.S. Moyie historical paddle wheel is available May through October, and an intimate moment for just the two of you, while you over the water, might be just what you need! The trains and train tracks that surround the park make for a great walk to take in some greenery and snap a few industrial style photos to round out your portrait session. The Antique Midway is filled with good old fashion fun of wagon rides, antique midway games, and who could resist a couple of creamy scoops from the ice cream parlour? The wedding team at Heritage Park can help you curate all of this for your wedding day! Rent out an Antique Carriage for a quick ride around the park and enjoy nature and the calming presence of one of their beautiful horses.

Heritage Park is a not-for-profit, which means all the proceeds from weddings and events goes directly back into preserving the park. It helps keep elements like artifacts intact and good condition (such as the train, boat, and the midway), care for our livestock, and maintain the history for future generations (in real life, not just with the photos!)
