Helicopter Elopement From Paisley Photography

I must say – I don’t get a ton of weddings like David & Carley’s! It’s one thing to elope – it a totally new ball game when you’re eloping to the top of a mountain for a wedding in the clouds! The middle of June, David and Carley took 15 of their closest friends to a hidden spot near Spray Lakes (we’ll never tell where it is!!) so they could saw their vows infront of a picturesque mountain backdrop. A ceremony filled with tears and love, they followed it up by jumping in a helicopter and heading to the top of Mount Charles Stewart to hike up the mountain with Chantal from Paisley Photograph for an epic set of portraits!

This Rocky Mountain elopement is the ultimate mountain bride’s dream – check out all the photos and hear more from the bride below!

From the Bride:

Our wedding was very small and intimate, with just 15 of our closest family members.  We wanted a small, simple wedding to make sure there was zero stress and that we were able to enjoy every moment of it from planning to the execution of it. We chose Canmore Alberta because of the beautiful views and was the perfect back drop. We went down in April to find a spot to get married and we didn’t want the typical wedding venue. We spent the day driving around exploring until we came across the perfect spot which was in the middle of no where just off the road to Spray Lakes, but it was perfect for us. We rented 12 chairs for everyone to sit on, brought umbrellas as it was formatted to rain and brought a small stereo to play the music. The morning of the wedding we had a family brunch together, after that us girls got our hair and make up done while the boys hung out. At 3pm we had our intimate mountain ceremony started where I think every single person cried including us. Being married to the man of my dreams and having the whole ceremony at the base of the mountains was a dream come true. After the ceremony we had some family pictures and then pop a bottle of champagne to celebrate with our loved ones. After our amazing ceremony we stop along the route for some amazing mountain pictures before we headed to Alpine Helicopter Inc were we flew up to the top of Mount Charles Stewart for an hour to take photos. They were the most amazing views we had ever seen, and the most amazing photographer (Chantal Saville of Paisley Photography) who we can't thank enough, captured every moment of our day perfectly. That truly meant the world to us. After a couple hours of photos we headed back to the hotel where we had a small family BBQ and drinks as our reception. We didn’t need or want anything fancy as that isn’t us. It was the best day we've ever had and we are so grateful we got to share it with the people that meant the most to us. The day was perfectly us, intimate, adventurous and romantic.
