Fall Toppers for Brides & Bridesmaids

Aldona B., Calgary’s Street Style Huntress is back with some seriously fashionable looks for Fall brides and bridesmaids. Aldona B. brings you the best looks from local Calgary shops and boutiques on her Instagram and Facebook – go follow her already!

I absolutely love Fall, so for this next assignment, I’ve decided to feature some great toppers that will be perfect for end of summer and lead us right into Fall. As the chill begins to creep in, especially in the mornings and evenings, you’ll want to make sure that you have a fun option to cover up, whether you’re a bride or bridesmaid. Or a guest for that matter!

I wanted to choose and showcase a few different options that range in style, colour and mood, and all of these pieces are of course street style ready to be worn outside of your special occasion. I’m a huge fan of buying clothes that you can wear again and easily coordinate into the rest of your wardrobe.

In the theme of all things favourite, I chose to showcase all of my Fall picks from Purr in Kensington, a local boutique that I’ve been shopping at for years and has been at the top of my list for just as long. They carry really great and unique pieces, and I adore everything about their style and vibe!

I’m all about having fun with fashion, so these looks aren’t typically bridal, but would definitely work as so – and I especially love the idea of throwing a classic denim jacket over your bridal dress, so that’s in there too!

LOOK TWO – Pretty in Pink

This simple, yet stunning, pink blazer is the perfect shade of blush and would work wonderfully with a bridal or bridesmaids ensemble. The simplicity of the cut and colour won’t take away from your dress, but will add a nice soft touch to your look. And again, wear it again after your special day with pretty much anything in your closet, and don’t be afraid to bring some pastels into Fall.

LOOK THREE – Leather Bomber

Because I like to believe that I’m a little rock and roll, I was instantly drawn to this bomber jacket. The lighter brown colour is perfect for the season, and goes well with other neutrals – and perfect for an edgy bride that wants to add some fun to her look once it’s time to cover up.

The zippers and details on the jacket are a wonderful touch, and definitely play around with rolling up your sleeves.

LOOK FOUR – Classic Denim

I saw an image on Pinterest of a bride rocking out a denim jacket and I can’t get the picture out of my head, I loved it so much! What a cute and simple idea, yet it looked fun and funky.

This Levi’s pick from Purr is perfect for this, especially in this mid-tone denim, which you can wear all year round. Seriously, who doesn’t love a classic denim jacket?

Thanks so much to Purr Kensington for allowing me to have a blast styling at their store (I could be there all day long, seriously! ) and Ellen Parker of Ellen Parker PR for modelling these looks for me!
