Where do you find your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from a lot of different places, anything from a book I’m reading to a photo i see or simply just sitting in my studio sketching and something clicks in my mind and whole dress comes to life. I find that fabric is also a huge inspiration for me and top of the list. I’ll be fabric shopping and see a beautiful lace and instantly have an idea in my head. I like to surround myself with art and music and literature which really dives my passion for creating.
What style of bride will love your gowns?
The brides that will love my gowns are those who are seeking something different, something that’s going to stand out no matter how simple the style may be. She is the bride looking to piece together some of her favourite style elements or simply the bride who doesn’t want the same dress that every other woman is trying on! the non-traditional fashion forward bride!
How did you get your start designing gowns?
To be honest I really never envisioned myself designing wedding gowns and if you check out my work you will know I’m not your average designer, I like to stand out and make people question why or what it is I was thinking when I created my garments. I was asked a few years ago to create a wedding gown for a pregnant woman who couldn’t find a gown anywhere that made her feel beautiful and so I gladly took on the challenge and from then I LOVED to create wedding gowns. Its getting to create custom one of a kind couture which is exactly what I’ve wanted since I began designing.
Once I really started to promote my wedding couture the response has been amazing, not only am I creating beautiful white and ivory gowns I’ve done everything from pink, to gold to BLACK which I absolutely love ! its so exciting to see women stepping out of the normal and going for whatever makes them feel like a queen on their wedding day!
