6 Tips for A Super Fun Rehearsal Dinner

Sonia Ulmer of Enriched Events is a pro at planning perfect weddings, but there are a ton of events associated with weddings, like engagement parties, bridal showers and yes, rehearsal dinners! Sonia has a few tips on keeping your rehearsal dinner exactly what it should be: stress free and super fun, a relaxed event to kick start your wedding!

  • If the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner are in the same venue, invite only those in the bridal party and involved in the ceremony to the actual rehearsal and ask spouses and other family and friends to join after for the dinner. This will help the actual rehearsal go faster and there will be less distractions.

  • Keep it intimate if possible – Bridal party and spouses, parents, grandparents and siblings. This will allow you quality time with them.
  • If you have a lot of people from out of town, invite them for a drink after the dinner – set up a meet and greet at a local pub.

  • Keep the actual dinner fun and relaxed. Backyard BBQs, dinner in a private room in your favorite restaurant.
  • Hand out gifts, allow people to speak who don’t have a speach at the reception and thank everyone for being involved.

  • Try and have it a few days before the wedding, and not the night before if you can. This way you can spend more time and feel refreshed the day of the wedding. It allows you to get some rest, hit the spa and relax the day before the BIG DAY!
